The triple bottom line (TBL) concept proposes that businesses create three distinct bottom-line metrics. The TBL is a variation of the balanced scorecard methodology, and in the end, what a business measures are likely to receive the most consideration.

The triple bottom lineis that businesses should measure their social and environmental effect in addition to their financial success rather than concentrating exclusively on making a profit or the traditional "bottom line."

a). Social: The bottom line for people, social, or human capital is concerned with the fair and advantageous business practices toward labor and the community and area where a corporation conducts its operations. A TBL corporation envisions a social system based on reciprocity in which the interests of the company, the workforce, and other stakeholders are intertwined.

b). Environmental: Sustainable environmental practices are referred to as the planet, environmental bottom line, or natural capital bottom line. A TBL company strives to do no harm to the natural order or, at the very least, minimize environmental impact. A TBL project lessens its ecological impact by, among other things, carefully controlling the use of energy and non-renewable resources, minimizing manufacturing waste, and making trash less harmful before properly and safely disposing of it.

c). Economic: Profit, often known as the economic, contributes to the financial value produced by an organization after all input costs, including the cost of capital invested, have been eliminated. As a result, it is distinct from conventional accounting definitions of profit. The "profit" component in the original notion needs to be understood as the genuine economic advantage received by the host society within a sustainability framework. It is the organization's actual financial impact on its economic environment

The triple bottom line is essential as it has an impact on everyone. It emphasizes social communities and the company's environmental impact in addition to business and corporate leaders. Another more viable future that takes into account both social and environmental sustainability is something this methodology offers.
