To simplify the given expression $8c+2−(c+2)$, first use the distributive property to remove the parenthesis as follows

$8c+2−(c+2)=8c+2−c−2$

Now to simplify above expression further, group the like terms and combine them as shown below

$\begin{array}{c}8c+2−(c+2)=8c+2−c−2\\ =8c−c+2−2\\ =(8−1)c+0\\ =7c\end{array}$

Thus, the simplified expression is $7c$.
