In mathematics, the quotient is the number obtained by dividing one number by another number.

Example:A quotient of x and y mean x divide y.

Converting the phrase into an equation:

In the left side, the phrase is ‘’the quotient of m and 6’’. Quotient means the division of m and 6 and m is the variable and the right side is 4.

Now we can write ‘’the quotient of m and 6’’is$\frac{m}{6}$
