The magnetic field strength, denoted as \(H\), represents the measure of the magnetizing force or the intensity of the magnetic field in a coil. It is determined by how many turns (\(N\)) of wire are within the coil, the current flowing (\(I\)) through the coil, and the length (\(L\)) of the coil. The formula to calculate \(H\) is \[ H = \frac{N I}{L} \].
For instance, if you have a coil of 50 turns carrying a current of 0.01 amps, with a length of 10 mm (0.01 meters), you can calculate the magnetic field strength as follows:
\[ H = \frac{50 \times 0.01}{0.01} = 50 \, \mathrm{A/m} \]
This result, 50 A/m, tells us how intensely the magnetic field is generated inside the coil due to the current passing through it.

Magnetic susceptibility, symbolized as \(\chi\), is a dimensionless proportionality constant that indicates the degree of magnetization of a material when it is placed within a magnetic field. Essentially, it describes how easily a material can be magnetized.
Mathematically, the magnetization \(M\) of a material is given by the equation: \[M = \chi H\]
where \(H\) is the magnetic field strength and \(\chi\) is the magnetic susceptibility of the material. In our example, given a magnetic susceptibility \(\chi = 10^4\) and \(H = 50 \, \mathrm{A/m}\), we calculate:
\[ M = 10^4 \times 50 = 5 \times 10^5 \, \mathrm{A/m} \]
This result signifies that the material within our coil has been significantly magnetized to reach a value of \(5 \times 10^5 \, \mathrm{A/m}\).

The permeability of free space, also known as the magnetic constant, is denoted by the symbol \(\mu_0\). It is a fundamental physical constant that measures the ability of a vacuum to support the formation of a magnetic field. Its value is typically given as: \[ \mu_0 = 4\pi \times 10^{-7} \, \mathrm{T \, m/A} \]
In determining magnetic induction (\(B\)), we use the formula:
\[ B = \mu_0 (H + M) \]
Here, \(H\) is the magnetic field strength, and \(M\) is the magnetization. So, if we take \(H = 50 \, \mathrm{A/m}\) and \(M = 5 \times 10^5 \, \mathrm{A/m}\), the magnetic induction is calculated as:
\[ B = 4\pi \times 10^{-7} (50 + 5 \times 10^5) = 4\pi \times 10^{-7} \times 500050 \approx 0.628 \, \mathrm{T} \]
This result indicates that the total magnetic flux density generated within our coil is approximately 0.628 Tesla, a considerably strong magnetic field.
