Contrastingly, the 'intersection', denoted by \( \cap \), seeks out only the elements common to both sets, which leads us to another fundamental aspect of sets: shared elements.

The intersection of sets captures the essence of what is shared between them. Think of it as finding a common ground where both sets agree, which, in mathematical terms, means identifying the elements they both possess.
