If this digit is less than 5, you round down, leaving the target digit the same and changing all digits to the right of it to zero.

In our example with the number 30.0092 rounded to the tenths place, we look at the hundredths place which contains a '0'. Since '0' is less than 5, we round down, meaning the tenths digit remains unchanged, and all digits to its right are changed to zero. Therefore, 30.0092 rounded down to the tenths place is 30.0. This process is very practical as it maintains the number's approximate value while simplifying its representation.
