To find the critical points, the inequality needs to be written in correct form i.e. only 0 on the right side.

Critical points of a rational expression are the points where the expression becomes 0 or undefined.

For the interval $\left(-8,4\right)$,

Plugging $x=2$:

Hence this interval is a solution to the inequality.

For the interval $\left(4,∞\right)$,

Plugging $x=6$:

Hence this interval is not a solution to the inequality.
