We have the equation $16x^2-32x+12$.

Now we will look for two numbers in the equation whose product comes out to be the product of first and last term, i.e. , $12$and sum comes out to be the middle term, i.e., $-8$. We need to take the negative factors as the sign of middle term is negative. The factors of $12$and their sums are-

Through this we can say that the two numbers will be $-2,-6$.

Two numbers which we got are$-2,-6$.

Splitting the middle term gives us,

$$\begin{gathered} =4\left[4x^2-8x+3\right] \\ =4\left[4x^2-2x-6x+3\right] \\ =4\left[2x(2x-1)-3(2x-1)\right] \\ =4(2x-1)(2x-3) \end{gathered}$$

This shows that factors are$4(2x-1)(2x-3)$.

We will check the solution by multiplying. If we get the same given equation, our calculations are right.

So,

$$\begin{gathered} =4(2x-1)(2x-3) \\ =\left[8x-4\right](2x-3) \\ =16x^2-24x-8x+12 \\ =16x^2-32x+12 \end{gathered}$$
