The Squeeze Theorem, also known as the Sandwich Theorem, is a fundamental tool in calculus that is particularly useful when it's difficult to evaluate a limit directly. Imagine you have a sequence or a function that's hard to pin down, but you can find two other sequences (or functions) that trap your sequence like a slice of ham between two pieces of bread. If these two 'slices of bread' approach the same limit, then the 'ham' in the middle is forced to go to the same limit as the slices enclosing it.

This theorem can be formally stated as follows: if you have functions \(f(n)\), \(g(n)\), and \(h(n)\) such that \(f(n) \leq g(n) \leq h(n)\) for all \(n\) after a certain point, and both \(f(n)\) and \(h(n)\) converge to the same limit \(L\) as \(n\) approaches infinity, then \(g(n)\) also converges to \(L\).

In simple terms, if sequence \(g(n)\) is always 'squeezed' between sequences \(f(n)\) and \(h(n)\) which both approach the same value as they go on forever, then \(g(n)\) has no choice but to follow suit and converge to the same value.

The concept of convergence in sequences is a fundamental part of understanding limits in calculus. A sequence converges when, as you go further and further along in the sequence, its terms start getting closer and closer to a specific number. This number is called the limit of the sequence.

To illustrate, suppose you have a sequence \(a_{n}\) and you want to know if it converges to a number \(L\). If you can make the difference between \(a_{n}\) and \(L\) as small as you like by making \(n\) sufficiently large, then \(a_{n}\) is said to converge to \(L\). In mathematical terms, for every positive number \(\epsilon\), no matter how small, there exists a natural number \(N\) such that for all \(n \geq N\), the following is true: \(\left| a_{n} - L \right| < \epsilon\).

Understanding convergence is crucial: it informs us about the behavior of sequences in the long run and allows us to predict and evaluate limits efficiently in various mathematical and real-world scenarios.

Exponential functions are extremely important in both mathematics and the real world because of their distinctive feature: the rate of change of the function at any point is proportional to the value of the function at that point. This behavior is commonly expressed with the function \(f(x) = a^{x}\), where \(a\) is a constant and \(a > 0\).

When \(a\) is greater than 1, the function increases rapidly, reflecting exponential growth. Conversely, if \(0 < a < 1\), it represents exponential decay, as the function decreases as \(x\) increases. The natural exponential function, where \(a\) is the mathematical constant \(e\), is particularly important because it arises naturally in many areas, such as compound interest, population growth, and even in the distribution of prime numbers.

Regarding our sequence \(\frac{\sin n}{2^{n}}\), the denominator \(2^{n}\) represents an exponential function with a base greater than 1, indicating exponential growth. As \(n\) becomes large, \(2^{n}\) increases so rapidly that the ratio with any bounded numerator, like \(\sin n\), which oscillates between -1 and 1, approaches zero. This observation underpins the intuition behind the convergence of the given sequence.
