Coordinate$\left(x,y\right)$ of apoint is an ordered pair of numbers; that is, a number on the x-axis called an x-coordinate, and a number on the y-axis called a y-coordinate.

In rectangular coordinate system any point be in the form of $\left(x,y\right)$.

• In Quadrant I, both the coordinates of ordered pair are positive, that is, $\left(+,+\right)$.
• In Quadrant II, first number is negative and second is positive, that is, $\left(−,+\right)$.
• In Quadrant III, both the coordinates of ordered pair are negative, that is, $\left(−,−\right)$.
• In Quadrant IV, first point is positive and second is negative, that is, $\left(+,−\right)$.

In order to plot the point $\left(0,6\right)$, observe that$\left(0,6\right)$lies on x-axis.

Steps to plot the coordinates$\left(0,6\right)$are:

• Do not move to any direction of x-axis starting from origin as value of x is 0.
• Then move on positive y-axis by 6 units as value of y is 6.
