A UML class diagram consists of three sections, which will be described in detail below.

The first section of a UML class diagram contains the name of the class. The class name should be a singular noun that clearly indicates the objects or instances the class represents. This section is represented by a box with the class name centered at the top. For example, in a school management system, some possible class names could be "Student", "Teacher", "Course", and "Classroom".

The second section of a UML class diagram contains the attributes or properties of the class. Attributes represent the state or data that every instance of the class will have. This section is represented by a separate compartment within the class rectangle beneath the class name. Attributes are typically labeled by their visibility (public, private, or protected) symbol, followed by the attribute name, a colon, and the attribute type. For example, if we have a "Student" class with attributes "name" and "age", the second section could look something like this: - name: string - age: int

The third section of a UML class diagram contains the operations or methods of the class. Operations represent the behavior or functionality that can be applied to instances of the class. This section is represented by another compartment within the class rectangle beneath the attributes section. Operations are also labeled by their visibility symbol, followed by the operation name, parentheses containing any parameters and their types, and the return type. For example, in a "Student" class, we might have a "getFullName" method that returns the full name of a student as a string.
