This method can be used to pause threads or animations related to the applet. 5. Destroying (destroy method): The destroy() method is called when the browser shuts down the applet, typically when the user closes the web page. This method should be used to clean up any resources used by the applet, such as closing files or releasing memory.

Applets do not require a static main method because they are embedded in a webpage and executed by the Java plugin of the web browser.
