A workcenteris an organizational unit in which industrial tasks are carried out. Work centers, in other words, are the master data that reflect real machines, Production Lines, Assembly Workcenters, and so on. Workcenters are where manufacturing or operations take place.

Batch production is another term for batching in operations management. Batch production is one of the manufacturing strategies in which goods are produced in batches or groups within a specific time. To complete production and obtain a finished product, it must go through various procedures.

The batching procedure may appear to improve efficiency and decrease preparations. However, in rare cases, the batching procedure might result in:

1. Divide the lots.
2. Setups that aren't working.
3. Parts that are lost throughout the procedure
4. An increase in faults.
5. Delay in services.
6. A large volume of work-in-process inventory.
7. The hockey stick effect.

This type of manufacturing is based on the concept of customization and works according to the demands of the company or person. However, batching may be difficult for workcenters at times since errors in the process result in lost time and money, higher storage costs, difficulty with quality control at times, increased employee downtime, and so on.
