Thecapability index,also described as the process capability ratio, is a quantitative tool of quality management, a process' ability to make a product under a given constraint.

The formula is given below:

Minimum ((upper standard limit - samples mean) / (3 x sample Standard variation)), (sample mean - minimum specification limit) / (3 x sample standard variation)) C_pk again for the procedure.

Upper standard limit = 2.4

Samples mean = 1.9625

Sample standard variation = 0.2096

Lower specification limit = 1.4

Putting the given digits in the formula

Minimum ((2.4 - 1.9625) / (3 * 0.2096), (1.9625 - 1.4) / (3 * 0.2096))....... (1)

= Minimum ((0.4375) / (0.6288), (0.5625) / (0.6288)).......... (2)

= The absolute minimum (0.6957, 0.8945)

= 0.6957.

Hence, 0.6957 is theC_pk for the process.
