Sourcing is that step within the high-level view of the method of production. The materials required to provide an item and a commodity are identified and procured from one or more vendors during the sourcing process. It is the method of evaluating, selecting, and managing suppliers of input that the companies or firms require for their production activity.

Based on the supply product being manufactured, the provision chains can be as long as global and maybe as short as local. But the high-level view of production has countermined the method into three simple steps comprising:

1. Sourcing: Recognizing the parts and materials required
2. Making: The collected materials and parts supply the product/good.
3. Delivering: Sending the ultimate products to the consumers.
