In the form of a tree diagram, phylogenetic trees show the interrelationships between diverse species and their common ancestors.

A certain collection of characteristics is used to create phylogenetic trees. By analysing the similarities and differences among these features, a link is made, and a tree is produced with the more similar species closer together and the dissimilar species further apart. Other characters, on the other hand, may give a different or real store, resulting in a whole new tree. A phylogenetic tree is a representation of the evolutionary history of a group of traits that were studied during their evolution, which may or may not have the same conclusion for the species.

Because three is generated using a specific set of features and depicts the evolutionary history of those characters in species, some animals that appear to be closely linked in a phylogenetic tree may not truly be closely related. Changing the characters can result in a completely different tree.
